INTRODUCTION TO NAHUM:

WHO CAN STAND AGAINST THE WRATH OF GOD

Nahum 1:1-15

Nahum was from Elkosh (an unknown location believed to be Capernaum…‘literally village of Nahum’) He prophesied from a site in Assyria against the Assyrians and more specifically Nineveh at about 663 – 612 B.C. Nahum prophesies the fall of Nineveh which took place in 612 B.C.

I. THE LORD AVENGES (vs. 1-6)

    a. Who is Nahum prophesying against? _______________________________________________________________________
