November '09

Dear Church Family,

I really do not want to say it very loud but it is November and the weather so far this Fall has been unusually nice…THANK YOU LORD!!! By November most folks just feel like climbing into their cozy warm homes and waiting for spring…after all it’s just six months away. This is the time to discipline ourselves to get in the game. Now is the time to get determined, instead of hibernating this winter, go and do something!

There are lots of things that we can do to get involved in our church or community that can help us develop relationships with those around us and show the love of Jesus Christ. It makes the winter seem to go quicker, it allows you to make some new friends, and most importantly, it allows you to minister and share Jesus with others in a non-threatening way. Pursue a hobby, join a club, start something new, but, whatever you choose to do, do it prayerfully asking the Lord to give you an opportunity to share Jesus’ love with someone who needs to know Him.

But whatever you do whether in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Col 3:17

November is also the time that we contemplate our many blessings and give thanks. We really ought to do this all the time but we as Americans have set aside Thanksgiving Day specifically for surrounding ourselves with family and friends and giving thanks. As you celebrate this year remember those whose families are far away and invite them to celebrate with you. Remember those who serve in our armed forces and offer a special prayer for their safety and encouragement.

I thank God for each of you!

                                                                                                    Pastor Tom
